Jason Davis

The creator, host and Executive Producer of KSTP TV’s On the Road with Jason Davis is a journalist and a true citizen of the world who has brought the world to Minnesota viewers.

Born in London, Jason Davis left home at 15 to join the British Merchant Navy. After traveling to more than fifty different countries, he landed in Australia, where he began his television news career in 1968. A few years later, he moved to KOOL TV in Phoenix, Arizona, and joined KSTP TV as a reporter in 1976. In 1979 he began his On the Road features on 5 Eyewitness News, which grew into the popular Sunday night program seen today on KSTP and KSAX TV in Alexandria, and on Saturday nights on WDIO TV in Duluth. Specializing in the unusual, the exciting, and the adventurous, Davis has taken news crews, and his viewers, as far as the North Pole with explorer Will Steger, across the ocean with sailor Gerry Speiss, and to the battlefields of Kuwait and Iraq. He’s covered fascinating places and stories throughout Minnesota, across the country, and in over 35 countries around the world. A National Television Academy Silver Circle honoree, he has earned countless accolades throughout his career, including KSTP’s first Emmy Award.
